Here is the Theme: 

The notes of the row forms appear in strict order (watch out for clef changes).

Notice how Webern makes use of contiguous ic 1’s from the row (e.g. B-Bb), but also articulates ic 1’s between notes that are separated in the row (e.g. Eb-D, linked by durational value; or, in m.3, F#-G, linked by a slur). So, he presents the row to us in order, but highlights ic 1’s that appear in various ways in it.

Style: ic 1’s appear frequently in Webern’s music, often, as here, in many guises (e.g. maj.7, min.9, + octaves, etc.)
